December Journal Prompts

December makes me think of all the things to come in the new year and all that has already past. There are possibilities and there are endings. And then there is the rest of my life beyond that. I ask myself where am I going from here, but where have I already been? What version of me came to life this year, and which one will I meet in the next one?

The following journal prompts come from that feeling and I will be taking time this month to answer these myself. I hope to uncover where I want to be in 2025 and the version of myself that is yet to be discovered.

What do you want to take with you into 2025? What do you want to leave behind in 2024?

Describe in detail what your life looks like a year from now. What do you do, what do you like, who do you spend your time with, and what have you accomplished?

What would you tell the version of you from a year ago? What would you tell the future version of yourself?

What are 5 things you are grateful for right now and describe them in detail.

What are you proud of yourself for this year? What could have gone better?

Write a letter to the version of you that will exist in 2030, then save the letter to read 5 years from now.

What is an area of your life that you would like to improve? What small steps can you take to make that happen?

What’s something that you failed at this year and what did the failure teach you that you can take with you?

How do you feel about change? What has changed recently in your life and how did you react to it?

See ya!

Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you next week!
